The history of Marcegaglia begins in Gazoldo degli Ippoliti, with the manufacturing of cold formed sections for roller shutters starts. Shortly after, also the production of tubes from cold rolled strip is started. Today, the in the plant there are carbon steel cold rolling mills and tubes are processing also from hot rolled strip.
The Gazoldo degli Ippoliti plant has lines for the production of steel coils, strips, sheets, flat bars, welded structural and precision tubes. This is the Marcegaglia Headquarters, wich manages all central activities related to manufacturing units and sales divisions.
The major investment plan started in 2008 included new additions to the plant, with new large units for the annealing and pickling, cold rolling and cut to length of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels 1D and 2B finish.
